Andover Tennis Club was a small tennis club with big ambitions. We helped them with a £1.2m relocation to a new site with an amazing indoor facility for local people and for aspiring players who wanted to progress.
The club was land-locked and had the option to sell its existing site which had 5 outdoor courts and a small club house. The club plan was to relocate to a new site which had space to construct 2 indoor tennis courts, fit for purpose pavilion and 6 outdoor floodlit tennis courts with adequate car parking.
wctd limited was engaged to provide a funding feasibility study to identify other sources of funding around the likely support from the Lawn Tennis Association.
By supporting the skill set of the committee, small and major grant applications were submitted to a number of funders. A 5 year community engagement plan and separate business plan was produced identifying the new way the club would be managed, including recruitment of a head coach and providing 5 years income and expenditure cashflow to demonstrate how an LTA loan would be repaid.
The club has constructed all the courts except 3 of the outdoor courts which were no longer affordable due to rising costs, however these are still part of the long term plan for the site. The club is financially sound and repaying back it’s LTA loan.
The club has thrived in its new location and has school coaching programmes, social play, leagues and coaching for anyone regardless of age or ability.
