Training for coaches and coach managers

wctd deliver workshops for coaches, coach managers and volunteers looking to improve their skills in sport and developing others:

Sport Mentoring:  This workshop develops your ability in mentoring others.  Open to coaches, officials, volunteers and sports professionals, the support you will receive will boost your confidence and provide you with your own framework for successful mentoring.

Presentation Skills:  Whether you are delivering a key-note presentation to hundreds of your peers or just standing up in front of your colleagues, we can help you to consider changes you can make to improve your impact and leave a lasting impression.

High Performance Environment:  Athletes are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible and to contiune to challenge and support them, everyone involved in sport needs to have the same mentality.  What do you do that keeps you ahead of the game, innovating and creating the right environment?

Grant FundingOur grant funding workshop is for any 'not for profit' organisation that is looking to access funds to improve what they offer to its users, from a governing body to a small club or community organisation.

We don't just give you some advice, we work with you before the workshop to understand your needs and then tailor the delivery to match the requirements of all delegates and their organisations.   This means that we can give you some tips, help to share practice between organisations and unlike any other grant funding service, help you to develop your skills in finding funding and making successful applications.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children (1 and 2):  As a consultant for the NSPCC and a safeguarding trainer with over ten years experience, Steve brings safeguarding to life and challenges coaches and administrators to examine their focus on the children they work with.

Coaching Survey

Finding that they knew very little about the coaches in their County as a newly established organisation, Get Berkshire Active were keen to investigate the current levels of qualification, experience and activity within the local coaching workfore.

wctd consulted with coaches face-to-face and created an online survey that gave both qualitative and quantative data and revealed current skills gaps and requirements around coach education and support that has now allowed GBA to create a full programme to dovetail into Governing Body support.

Grant applications

When a staff team is at full stretch delivering outputs, searching for grant streams and making applications is often not something that an organisation has the time or necessarily the skills to do.  That is where we offered extra assistance to GBA.

wctd offered grant funding assistance to the development and successful award of 2 different NHS Berkshire grants to deliver in Newbury and Wokingham.

An Active West Berkshire group has been set up delivering Inspire events, maximising the olympics legacy in the area.

Wokingham Health Improvement project saw funding for a new officer in public health providing tangible benefits for the health of local people in disadvantage communities.

wctd was also appointed to review 2 years of legacy funding distributed by the County Sports Partnership and measure outputs against funding applications and to set up a monitoring and evaluation system.
